Opening Day 2010

Sunday was South Park Baseball's 2010 Opening Day Celebration and it was fantastic! They really went all out this year. The kids got to participate in the opening day ceremonies, play in a HUGE bouncy, explore one of the volunteer firetrucks, and explore the inside of a life flight helicopter that we got to see land and take off on one of the baseball fields, and they got to meet the Washington Wild Things Mascot and the Eat N' Park Mascot Smiley. It was an especially lucky day for us because not only did our team, The Volcanoes win our baseball game but the association has a drawing from the fundraising tickets sold. There are literally thousands of tickets sold and the prizes this year were a Nintendo DS, a Playstation 3, a GPS system, a 46" Flat screen TV and 1 $1000 Grand prize. I must have had some great luck on Sunday because they pulled my name for the Grand prize! We had so much fun and the weather ended up being wonderful, it started to rain about 15 minutes after our game ended...like I said, it was a lucky day!David was once again chosen to be a manager of one of the baseball teams, this year Nathan has moved up to the minor league which is also kid pitch. Go Volcano's! Nathan was excited to try on the fireman's helmet.
She loved meeting Smiley!
But she had to have daddy hold her to meet the Wildthings mascot.
It was so cool to get to see the helicopter land and take off and explore the inside...although I hope I never have to need to see the inside of one.
