What an exiting week! We have been going non-stop all week with activities, parades, and births! On Monday, Nathan participated in the Memorial Day Parade in South Park with his Cub Scout pack. It was the first time he had ever walked in a parade. He was so excited, his only stipulation was that we would collect some candy for him. He also got to go on his first boat ride. One of his classmates hosted their birthday party with the Gateway Clipper Fleet and Nathan got to ride on the Majestic. He loved it!
On Thursday Nathan had another baseball game and he earned the Game Ball! What a difference a year makes. Last year he was a bit on the timid side and not very sure of himself and the rules of baseball. This year he is loving it and doing a great job. He hits the ball much better and he is actually getting players out and making plays instead of playing in the dirt.
Friday was his last day of school. He came home so upset because he said he loves school and he is going to miss it. He actually brought home some of his school workbooks to do over the summer! I suppose I should be ecstatic that he loves it and is doing very well, instead of hating it and having to drag him there. The tooth fairy visited us 8 times since the first day of school.
I went to go see the new Sex and the City movie with 5 of my girlfriends on Friday. It was a blast to have a girls night out and the movie lived up to the hype. I won't give any details, but it was great!
Here are pictures from the first and last day of 1st grade.
Saturday was a day of fun as well. My cousin Amy and her husband Scott came in from Mt. Pleasant and we went to my parents house for lunch and some reminiscing with some old family pictures. Then we went to the Waterfront and had dinner at PF Changs and saw a show at the Improv. Ralphie May was appearing, he was HILARIOUS! I highly recommend if you have a chance to see him, GO!!! Great show!
Sunday was a relaxing day...thank goodness, I'm getting to old to be gallivanting around all weekend! David and I went to his sister and brother-in-laws house to visit with our beautiful niece Corinne. She had a rough week. She had jaundice and was in Children's Hospital for 2 days. The jaundice finally cleared up and the three of them are now at home and are enjoying being a family. What a doll she is! I just love her so much already. This Aunt thing is awesome!
Today was another busy day. It was South Park's Kennywood Picnic Day! It was a long day, unfortunately David had to work today but Grandma Suzie, Grandma Gail, and Grandpa Ken (Pap, as the kids call him) all made it out to enjoy the day. The kids had a blast, and few stumbles as 3 out of the 4 children that were with us ended up with skinned knees. We met up with our neighbors and friends, the Haddad's. Their children's ages are within 9 months of our children's ages so it really works out well when we get them all together.
