Festivals, and Picnics and Kennywood, oh my!
Nathan's last day of school was on Friday, and joyfully I can say that he earned straight A's again! I could not be any prouder of him! We really started the summer off right, Saturday we went to my parents church in McMurray to attend their annual Car Cruise and Family Festival. I couldn't believe how many things there were to do, they had 4 huge bouncy houses, a car cruise, several fire trucks, hay rides, photo booths, caricatures, games for the kids, not to mention a complimentary lunch, and a ton of sweet treats as well.
He even got to sit in the driver's seat of the fire truck
Kadence got to pal around with one of her Gymkhana friends, which of course made her whole day
Sunday brought us to the Cub Scouts Annual Pack Picnic in South Park. Every year they have a huge slip and slide, this year was no different, they attached 3 water sources to the slide and added bubble bath for some extra "slip". The kids had a great time, Kadence was a bit on the timid side at first but then she mustered up some courage and slid down Kadence style, which means she slid down on her belly and backwards. What can I say? She is a trend setter, because the other girls started to slide that way too. The kids were filthy afterwards but we always bring some extra clothes and towels. The action didn't stop there, as David was leaving the park a large limb of a tree literally fell onto his car as he was driving! He wasn't injured but the car suffered some damage, only David.
Kadence and Nathan both got elaborate tattoos at the picnic
Kadence Style!
Monday brought us to Kennywood for South Park Day, it was great to see such a large number of South Parker's attending. We had 10 adults and 6 children with us, and thankfully we didn't need the first aid kit once, we also had great attitudes and no major meltdowns. All three of our events had the threat of rain, but luckily we didn't get any of it. You gotta love it when the weather and the kids cooperate!
He is always climbing something
